By Halloween 2025, the crypto market is again engulfed in fear. Total capitalization fell about 3.7%, signaling widespread selling pressure amid weakening global sentiment. 

But while the majority of investors were wary, whales instead moved on the contrary, they began a massive accumulation on the three main altcoins Dogecoin (DOGE), Aave (AAVE), and Maple Finance (SYRUP).

Whale Accumulation Patterns Analysis

On-chain Data from Santiment noted that all three assets experienced a surge in ownership by large wallets during late October. 

The pattern is consistent with a seasonal trend that often appears every Halloween, where whales buy in the fear phase with the expectation of a post-Halloween rebound (Halloween effect).

Altcoin #1: Dogecoin (DOGE) - Whale Activity Breakdown

Dogecoin (DOGE) again attracted the attention of large investors after a 21% correction in the past month. 

Whales, which holds between 100 million and 1 billion DOGE, increased its holdings from 27.68 billion to 29.1 billion DOGE, or the equivalent of $255 million in the October 28-30 period.

Currently DOGE is moving in the range of $0.17 - $0.20, a consolidation area since October 11. The hidden bullish divergence pattern on the RSI reinforces the potential for a rebound towards $0.20 - $0.27 if the $0.17 support holds.

But if that level fails to be maintained, the price risks dropping to $0.14 before there is a new recovery.

Altcoin #2: AAVE - Technical Analysis

Whales AAVE has been actively adding positions since October 27. Large wallets with holdings of 1-10 million tokens raised their balance from 4.86 million to 4.94 million AAVE, the equivalent of an additional 80,000 tokens or about $17 million.

AAVE prices briefly corrected 6.3% in the last 24 hours, extending a three-month downtrend of 17.7%. 

But the accumulation actually increased in two important areas, namely $210 and $199 which are considered the main buy zones.

Historically, AAVE has averaged an 11.8% rebound a week after Halloween since 2020. If this pattern repeats, the resistance level at $230–$248 becomes a potential short-term target. Conversely, if the $210 support breaks down, a potential further consolidation could occur.

Altcoin #3: SYRUP - Fundamental Outlook

Maple Finance's DeFi Token has actually become one of the few altcoins that are still in the green amid market pressure. Its price is in the range of $0.41, up about 10% throughout October.

Whales with a balance of 1-10 million SYRUP increased ownership from 246.95 million to 254.62 million tokens, equivalent to 7.67 million SYRUP or $3.14 million at the current price.

The Smart Money Index (SMI) indicator also showed an upward trend since October 23, indicating a large investor confidence in a potential breakout.

As long as the price holds above $0.39, the trend remains positive with a resistance target at $0.43–$0.46. But if it fails to hold, the next support at $0.33 could be a new accumulation area.

Historical Post-Halloween Crypto Performance

The old pattern, the old strategy of the phenomenon of “whales buy in times of fear” is not new. In the crypto market cycle, the fear phase is often utilized by big players to accumulate assets at a discount.

Halloween is just a symbolic moment where when the market is scared, big capital sees an opportunity. 

This pattern proved to be repeated in previous years and this year the data again showed a similar direction.

Trading Strategy for Potential Rally

Amid market pressure, the whales ' buying action on DOGE, AAVE, and SYRUP signals that the accumulation phase is underway. 

Risk Management and Exit Points

Whether or not a post-Halloween monster rally will actually happen remains to be tested by market momentum, but on-chain data shows one thing is clear: smart money hasn't given up on altcoins.
